FESTIVAL OF DANCE ANNAPOLIS ROYAL – NOVA SCOTIA

For this festival we will be re-mounting and developing two works from JDd’s first project in 2010 called Ink to flesh. We are excited to get back into the studio with choreographer Kate Franklin to bring A Mark back to life, a tactile, intense and highly physical duet. Also, on the program Army of Barbie a humerus and theatrical exploration of beauty, with an original score by composer Jordan O’Connor.

“JDdance is Jesse Dell and Jordana Deveau who present their own choreography as well as a piece by Kate Franklin. Their attractive dances include clever props, costumes and original music to make social statements…  These worthy young artists show that the new generation of Toronto Dance is in good hands.”   – Paula Citron

JDdance

Jordana Deveau and Jesse Dell originally founded JDdance (JDd) in 2009 as a platform to challenge, develop and hone their own choreographic, interpretive and performance skills. Over the last three years JDd has evolved into a fluid and versatile collective that adapts and re-shapes as each project requires. Aligned in their dedication to in-depth creative process, collaboration and research-based contemporary dance, JDd currently consists of three core members (Dell, Deveau and Tracey Norman). With their combined experience in creating and presenting dance these three women make for a team charged with ability, experience, dedication and passion.
